Refund & Cancellation Policy

This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to Researchers (clients, companies, or individuals) who use Nopser to post surveys, studies, or research activities and pay Nopser to recruit participants.

1. Scope

This Policy governs:

  • Payments made by Researchers to Nopser (study budgets + commission).
  • Refunds and cancellations initiated by Researchers or Nopser.
  • Disputes relating to payments processed via Razorpay or other payment partners.

2. How Payments Work

2.1 Researchers pay the Total Study Budget + Nopser commission upfront at the time of posting a study.

2.2 Payments are processed via Razorpay and held by Nopser until study completion, expiry, or cancellation.

2.3 Nopser reserves the right to withhold, refund, or adjust funds according to this Policy.

3. Refunds to Researchers (When They Occur)

Refunds to Researchers may be issued in the following situations:

(A) Insufficient Responses / Study Not Performed

  • If a posted study fails to receive the required number of valid participant responses within the study period, Nopser will refund the unused portion of the study budget (after commission, if applicable).
  • Refunds are processed to the original payment method or by bank transfer as per Razorpay rules.

(B) Study Cancelled by Researcher (Before Participation Begins)

  • If a Researcher cancels the study before participants begin the task, Nopser will refund the unused budget (less any non-refundable fees or commission as stated at time of posting).

(C) Study Cancelled by Nopser

  • If Nopser cancels a study for policy, compliance, or fraud reasons, Nopser will refund the unused budget to the Researcher.

4. Refunds Not Applicable

Refunds will not be provided in the following situations:

  • When payments have already been disbursed to participants for approved completions.
  • When a Researcher disputes the quality of participant responses but the responses meet the study's stated eligibility and validation criteria. In such cases, use the dispute process (Section 6).
  • When a Researcher withdraws a request after participants have worked and been approved.
  • For processing fees charged by payment gateways (these may be non-refundable; Razorpay's fees may apply per their policy).

5. Cancellation by the Researcher

  • A Researcher may cancel a study only before participants begin the task; once participant submissions are in progress, cancellation may not qualify for a refund of amounts already allocated to completed responses.
  • If cancellations occur after some participants completed the task, Nopser will refund only the unused portion of the budget (after paying approved participant rewards and commission).
  • Excessive cancellation by a Researcher may affect their ability to post future studies and may lead to account restrictions.

6. Dispute Resolution (Researcher vs. Nopser)

  • Researchers must raise disputes regarding payments, refunds, or study performance within 10 calendar days from the study end date.
  • To file a dispute, email help@nopser.com with: study ID, payment details, and reason for dispute.
  • Nopser will investigate using platform logs and submission records and respond within 7–14 business days.
  • If the dispute requires Razorpay or bank involvement, resolution timelines may extend subject to third-party processes.

7. Refund Processing Time

  • Approved refunds are typically processed within 7–14 business days, depending on the payment method and bank/Razorpay processing times.
  • Nopser is not responsible for delays due to banks, payment gateways, or chargebacks initiated by card issuers.

8. Commission & Fees

  • Nopser commission (e.g., ~3%, variable per study) is non-refundable for services already rendered (e.g., platform facilitation, participant recruitment).
  • Where applicable, the refundable amount will be computed after deducting commission and any non-refundable costs incurred by Nopser.

9. Fraud, Misuse & Forfeiture

  • If Nopser detects fraud, manipulation, or violation of platform rules by a Researcher or participants, Nopser reserves the right to withhold funds, cancel the study, and refuse refunds until investigation is complete.
  • Proven misuse may result in permanent account suspension and forfeiture of remaining funds.

10. Razorpay & Payment Partner Rules

  • All refunds/cancellations are subject to Razorpay's terms and applicable payment partner rules.
  • Nopser will follow Razorpay's dispute and chargeback procedures when required.

12. Amendments

Nopser may update this Policy to meet legal, regulatory or operational requirements. Updated versions will be posted on the website with a revised "Last Updated" date.
